The layer chicken cage
Currently, there are light cages for light laying hens such as Hyline white hens and Dicca white hens, and medium cages for medium laying hens like Hyline brown hens and Isha brown hens, typically consisting of three full or half steps.
(1) Cage frame: serves as the support for the cage body, consisting of a beam and diagonal support. Beams and diagonal supports are typically made of angle steel or channel steel, with a thickness of 2.0 to 2.5 mm.
(2) cage body: The chicken cage is constructed from cold-drawn steel wire through spot welding, followed by galvanization and assembly, incorporating the top net, bottom net, front net, back net, and cage door. Typically, the front net and top net are fused, as are the back net and bottom net, with a single separate net. The cage door is integrated into either the front net or the top net, with options for some doors to be removable or reversible. The cage bottom net is sloped at a certain angle, generally between 6° and 10°, extending out of the cage by 12 to 16 cm to create the egg tray. Cage specifications include a front height of approximately 40 to 45 cm, a depth of about 45 cm, and each small cage can house 3 to 5 chickens.
Multi-layer coops can promote the health of chickens
Neglecting the use of multi-layer coops often results in poultry farmers not achieving optimal health outcomes for their chickens. These coops play a crucial role in maintaining chicken health and enhancing reproduction rates.
The initial multi-storey coop wasn't merely a structure with a metal mesh floor and heating elements. A well-designed multi-layer chicken coop differs significantly from a standard wire cage. The wire flooring is engineered to allow for easy fecal leakage, effectively eliminating waste around the flock and reducing the potential for fecal-borne diseases. This ensures the chickens remain healthy, safeguarding the farmers' investments.
Increase egg production
Chickens that are healthy tend to be more productive compared to those raised in unhealthy environments, and the use of enrichment cages can enhance egg production potential.
Recent estimates indicate that 60 percent of eggs used in products like mayonnaise, sandwiches, and cakes are sourced from chickens kept in cages, suggesting a preference for cage-based egg laying over other breeding methods, particularly using multi-layer cages to enhance egg production.
